Our good friend Eric from Cadus recently held a food tasting event in Norway.
The evening showcased a journey through five intricate courses, expertly paired with each bottling from our Goldfinch Wine Series.
Course 1: Our Sweet German White Wine finish was the perfect complement to the first dish – Oysters from Norwegian shores, served both as Oysters Rockefeller and naturelle with a white balsamic vinaigrette. A great start to a remarkable evening.
Course 2: The Marsala finish paired beautifully with Bruschetta with mozzarella, pickled onions, olives and capers that set the stage for more delightful pairings.
Course 3: Our Red Wine Barrique finish from South Pauillac was an ideal match for the traditional Lutefisk, served in Bolinhos de bacalhau topped with pancetta butter and a lemon butter sauce that elevated the dish to a new level.
Course 4: The Red Wine Barrique finish from North Pauillac was the perfect companion to the Shepherds pie, served with lamb shank meat that made for an unforgettable combination.
Course 5: The evening concluded on a sweet note with our Tawny Port Wine finish wonderfully harmonising with a French chocolate cake, accompanied with ginger chutney and a delightful caramel crumble. A dessert to remember!
This extraordinary food and whisky pairing experience showcased the versatility and depth of our Wine Series, enhancing the flavours of each dish to create an unforgettable culinary experience.
We’re grateful to our friend Eric for hosting, to the restaurant for allowing this to happen and to all who joined.
